About Us
East City Futsal is the longest established club in New Zealand and is home to the game of FIFA 5 a-side indoor soccer – Futsal – a great fitness and skill builder, played by boys, girls, women and men of all ages. We cater for age groups from 8 year old's to seniors.
East City is the largest registered Futsal Club in New Zealand, established in 1982 and becoming an incorporated society in 1987. The club is run by a volunteer committee. The fantastic advantage about Futsal (indoor soccer) is it’s never rained out or weather dependant and at the same venue – no cancellations! Referees are supplied for each game.
All leagues are currently run at the Barfoot & Thompson Stadium, on Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays — depending on what night your grade plays. The club runs three league seasons per annum: Summer (starts February), Winter (starts June) and Spring (starts September).
East City is the only club with a premier men's division played on a full international court (the whole width and length of the Barfoot & Thompson Stadium), plus we have half court games for Senior B adult league as well as developing the future generation through junior, intermediate and youth leagues.
